Potential adopters must have an approved adoption application on file.
To obtain an adoption application, a potential adopter is required to attend PEAC seminars.
Those who wish to adopt small birds (such as budgies, lovebirds, parrotlets, and cockatiels) must attend the “Basic Bird Care” seminar.
Those who wish to adopt medium to large birds (such as conures, ringneck parakeets, Amazons, African Greys, Cockatoos, and Macaws) must attend at least the following three seminars:
- “Basic Bird Care”
- “Parrot Personalities”
- “Behavioral Problems”
Adoption fees are as follows:
|$10.00||Small birds (such as budgies, lovebirds, parrotlets, and cockatiels)|
|$30.00||Medium birds (such as conures and ringneck parakeets)|
|$150.00||Large birds (such as Amazons, African Greys, Cockatoos, and Macaws)|
In addition, the adopter is required to reimburse PEAC for any veterinary costs the bird may have incurred.
